Interesting.

This does make for a cleaner taste and makes it a little less difficult to overheat your Shisha.

That being said, there are a few drawbacks.

1. It takes longer to heat the bowl up.
2. It uses more coal than foil.
3. It gets very hot, and needs to cool down before being moved.

I wouldn't use this for my daily driver, but will use ot on occasion.

Thise device shines on larger/deaper bowls, I wouldn't use on a shallow bowl.

Great Heat Management

Having used this thing several times now, I can say the talk of smoother flavor from hookah tobacco is on-point. I also appreciate the fact that you can place and forget your coals--the ridges in the Lotus do vey well to keep them from backing out. My one gripe is that the main unit does not have a handle, and the outside of this thing gets unbelievably hot--hotter than the Provost. I would like to be able to remove the Lotus from the bowl as soon as I complete a session, but I am forced to leave it to cool before doing so.
